SUBJECT: Staff Position Classification and Updated SBCERA Salary Schedules

Approve the Staff Position Classifications pursuant to the approved FY 2022-23 Annual Budget and Approve the Updated SBCERA Represented and Unrepresented Salary Schedules.

BACKGROUND:
On June 2, 2022, the Board approved the FY 2021-22 Annual Budget which included a number of new positions and position reclassifications. The attached Salary Schedules incorporate those changes as follows:
1. Adds the position of Information Security Engineer at range 44 of the represented salary schedule, which is the same range as the Business Systems Engineer position.
2. Add the position of Human Resources Technician at range 10 of the unrepresented salary schedule which is the same as the Retirement Benefits Technician.
3. Moves the position of Senior Executive Secretary from range 26 to range 36 of the unrepresented salary schedule and retitles it to Deputy Clerk of the Board/Senior Executive Secretary to more accurately reflect the work performed in support of the Board.
4. Moves the position of Executive Assistant from range 38 to range 48 of the unrepresented salary schedule and retitles it to Clerk of the Board/Executive Assistant to the CEO to more accurately reflect the work performed in support of the Board.
5. Retitles the Information Security Officer to Information Security Manager.
6. Retitles the Retirement Benefits Officer to Retirement Benefits Manager.
7. Adds the position of Government Affairs Manager at range 61 of the unrepresented salary schedule, which is the same as the existing manager roles.
8. Adds the Information Services Operations Manager at range 61 of the unrepresented salary schedule, which is the same as the existing manager roles.
9. Adds the position of Director of Communications and Stakeholder Relations at range 66 of the unrepresented salary schedule, which is the same range as the Human Resources and Risk Management Director.
10. Removes the Enterprise Content Specialist, Payroll Specialist, Internal Auditor, Enterprise Content Manager
