Recommend that the Board approve engagement with Agency: ETA for graphic design services in an amount not to exceed $72,000.

BACKGROUND:
At its meeting on May 2, 2019, the Board approved SBCERA's Triennial Strategic Plan for Fiscal Years 2020-2022, which included the systematic review of all SBCERA communications under the Strategic Pillar of "Effective Communications." To conduct that review, SBCERA engaged Agency: ETA to prepare a roadmap for SBCERA and promote clarity, consistency, correctness, compliance and messaging in its communications. ETA has since completed its initial assessment, and has proposed a number of items which will facilitate a "refresh" of SBCERA's image, including its printed materials and other communications. While the list provided from ETA was comprehensive (Exhibit A), SBCERA staff recommends proceeding with the following projects at this time:
* Brand style guide: creating a manual of refreshed logo standards, color palettes and typography ($25,000);
* Identity package: design of templates for forms, letters, business cards, letterhead, envelopes, email signatures, member statements and web icons ($10,000);
* Handouts: updating current documents and fact sheets to reflect a cleaner, more modern look ($10,000);
* Brochures and booklets: updating templates which could be used for a number of projects ($15,000);
* Milestone mailings: updating SBCERA's current line of mailings which are sent out at various membership milestones ($12,000).
Total amount for items above is $72,000.
As part of its assessment of SBCERA's communications materials, ETA also prepared a set of four member profiles which served as examples of the various audiences SBCERA intends to reach (Exhibit B).
