Review and determine the Service-Connected Disability Retirement with Supplemental Retirement Allowance application of Emily Danner - County of San Bernardino - Human Services.

Requested Benefit:
1. Service-Connected Disability Retirement with Supplemental Retirement Allowance
Staff Recommendation:
1. Maintain the initial board decision from November 7, 2019 that Emily Danner is permanently incapacitated for the performance of duties based on the claimed injury(ies)/disease as listed in Exhibit A and the disability is non-service connected; therefore, grant a non-service connected disability benefit.
2. Emily Danner is not capable of gainful employment; therefore, grant the supplemental disability retirement allowance.
3. Staff initiated disability benefit payments with an effective date of September 3, 2016, the day after the last day of regular compensation.
4. Emily Danner may proceed to an Administrative Review provided a written request is submitted in accordance with the Rules of the Procedures for Disability Retirement Applications and Formal Hearings, understanding that the hearing officer will hear the request benefits de novo, unless otherwise stipulated by the parties.
BACKGROUND:
On November 13, 2019, member requested Administrative Review and Reconsideration of the Board of Retirement Decision.
On May 7, 2020, additional information was provided by the member to SBCERA.
Based on the review of the additional information provided by the member, the medical advisor, Dr. Lance Mohr, found no reason to change his original medical recommendation dated October 17, 2019.
