BACKGROUND:
On August 31, 2020, the California Legislature ended its two-year legislative term and presented bills to the Governor, who has until September 30, 2020 to sign or veto bills. This year, the Legislature’s focus has been on COVID-19 response and recovery. Therefore, the number of bills passed is greatly reduced from a normal year. The bills included in the presentation, if signed by the Governor, affect SBCERA. At the October Board meeting, staff will have an indication of which bills the Governor signed or vetoed.
