BACKGROUND:
General Policy No. 005 involves periodic review of Board policies and indicates that the Administrative Committee review General policies every three years. On March 5, 2015, the SBCERA Board adopted updates to General Policy No. 004, which consisted of complying with a 2013 amendment to the Ralph M. Brown Act requiring the reporting of any action taken by the Board in Closed Session. At present, after review of the policy, it remains in compliance with the Brown Act and therefore, staff does not have any recommended substantive changes. However, staff does recommend minor updates regarding the issue number, effective date, and replacement of the word “Chairman” with “Chair.”
Attached as Exhibit A is a redlined version of the proposed effective date change.
COMMITTEE REVIEW:
This item was reviewed by the Administrative Committee at its February 18, 2021, meeting and recommends Board approval, with a 4-0 vote.
