RECOMMENDATION:
title
Discussion regarding purpose and use of SBCERA Executive Committee.
body
BACKGROUND:
Trustee Hatch requested that the Administrative Committee include a discussion item on the purpose and use of the SBCERA Executive Committee (the Committee).
The Committee was formed in 2019 by a change in the SBCERA By-Laws:
Executive Committee.
The Executive Committee shall be comprised of the current Board Chair and Vice Chair, and immediate past Board Chair to advise the Board on benefit and compensation of SBCERA Employees, legal matters, as well as administrative matters not presented to the Administrative Committee. Committee meetings shall be at the prerogative of the Board Chair. If all the officers of the Executive Committee are appointed members of the Board or, in the alternative, elected members of the Board, then a fourth member shall be appointed to the Executive Committee, who shall be the immediate past chair or vice chair who is not of the same classification of the current three members. For purposes of this section, “classification” shall mean either appointed member, elected member or Ex Officio.
