Requested Benefit:
1. Service-Connected Disability Retirement
Staff Recommendation:
1. Gregory Ditfurth is permanently incapacitated for the performance of duties and a disability retirement should be granted.
2. Gregory Ditfurth’s disability is service-connected based on the claimed injury(ies)/disease as listed in Exhibit A (presumption pursuant to Gov. Code §31720.96); therefore, grant a service-connected disability benefit.
3. Staff shall initiate disability benefit payments with an effective date of the day after the last day of regular compensation, which is the day after the expiration of his Labor Code section 4850 leave as communicated by the employer.
